He was somehow successful (I think I fabricated one claim and got Connaught), until he got assassinated. Excommunication wars followed, first with Brittany (I barely won), then I lost the following excommunication war to Scotland, putting my son on the throne. At some point, my duke got excommunicated by a rival count directly to the north. Got the other province of the duchies by ducal claim. The game was really great! I inherited the county of Leinster 2 years into the game from my father, then went and created the duchies of Meath and. I also started as an Irish count, the cound of Dublin. Oh well, it's not that big an issue anyway.
